BOLTON COMMUNITY GARDEN MISSION
To provide a place for people to grow fresh produce for their own use
To promote a community gathering place where people can relax and enjoy nature
To provide education on sustainable, organic farming
To increase general food security
To widen ecological awareness and promote protection of our natural resources

Not sure when to put your seeds in the ground or start seedlings indoors?
Below are two links that will provide you with dates  based upon your last frost date.  Many of us use May 15 as the date in Bolton, but you can alter it slightly based upon your local microclimate.

Community Garden T-shirts still available
The BCG has beautiful light-blue 100% organic cotton T-shirts for sale.
They were regularly $16, but are now on sale for $10.
100% of all proceeds directly benefit the BCG.  Sizes are S,M,L and XL.
Contact Dave at  info@BoltonLocal.org to order your shirt. What a great gift!

Soil Test Information: It is a good idea to get your garden soil tested on a regular basis.  Two options are listed below:
  1. The UMass Extension will do this for you at a small cost.  Instructions and order forms can be found on their web-site.

  2. Local organic gardener, Jan Johnson, recommends A&L Laboratories for testing your garden soil.  They have easy to read results and next steps that even the novice garden can understand.  More information on ordering and testing can be found at the A&E Labs web-site.
